2022 SOUTH DAKOTA FARM REAL ESTATE MARKET SURVEY
You are invited to participate in the 2022 South Dakota Farm Real Estate Market Survey. The principal purpose of this survey is to obtain market value and cash rental rate information, by type of agricultural land, in different regions of South Dakota. Farmers, landowners, investors, lenders, real estate professionals, and public officials are the majority users of the data provided by the survey. 2022 marks the 32nd annual South Dakota Farm Real Estate Market Survey.
To obtain this information, we are requesting selected groups of individuals -- including appraisers, assessors, realtors, agricultural lenders, and extension field specialists to complete this survey. Many of you completed the survey in the past, and we thank you for your response. It will take approximately 15 minutes to complete the questionnaire. Your participation is entirely voluntary, and there are no foreseeable risks associated with the involvement in this survey. You may withdraw from the survey at any point.
Please indicate the county or counties included in your report. In most cases, you should describe the farmland market situation in your home county and possibly an adjacent county, if the market conditions are similar. If you conduct business in many different counties, and you are willing to report the farmland market situation in the various regions, please submit a survey for counties that have similar market values and rental rates. Then, complete another survey for the other area of the state. Results of the study will be available later this year. By including your email address, you will receive an electronic version of the published results, upon its completion. The results will also be available on https://extension.sdstate.edu/
Participation in the survey is voluntary, and your responses are completely confidential. There are no penalties for not participating. We request that you participate in providing this important information. We appreciate your time and effort in completing this survey. Thank you, we will be happy to answer any questions you may have about this study. Please use the contact information below to reach the administrators of the Land Survey.
